D'awww!  How could a friendship so pure and private become so demented and deadly?  Through human neglect and atheism, the enemy of all things, especially of friendship!

How is Atheism a problem?

I guess belief that God is merciful and that all other religions are heretical and wrong.  Why can't people realize that Christianity, like all other religions, isn't meant to be taken as law and the only way to live life?  It's based on punishment rather than gratification through simple living.
I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that honestly.

Yeah.  My dad is Atheistic too, and I'm more free-form and New Age in my spiritual/quasi-religious practice.  My practice doesn't adhere to one god above all others, and certainly not one bereft of mercy for non-believers, or any trace of creative thought that deviates from the norm.  That's the kind of image I was getting from Laughing Jack's origin story, i.e. a society bereft of mercy, physical or spiritual, towards Isaac.

Wat. I thought Laughing Jack went insane because 1. Issac went insane. 2. Because Issac left him. 3. When Issac went back to his old house he would torture his victims while Laughing Jack watched.

Well, yes.  Isaac did provide the example, but I think most of it was loneliness and jealousy of the people/victims Isaac was spending time killing.  Well, I meant atheism in the respect that he didn't believe in spirits anymore, never mind a merciful diving figure of any kind.  "He served a dark and a hungry god."

Wait, so the disbelief in God and his fellow deities caused a depression induced rage, which caused Laughing Jack to murder his childhood friend?

I'm sorry, but if you don't remember, Laughing Jack changed as Issac did, meaning Laughing Jack's sick nature was caused by Issac's own nature, which became sick and vile.

I'm not religious at all, but consider Issac a damaged, weak to temptation human, and Laughing Jack his guardian angel of sorts. He's a complete mirror of Issac, and is designed to care and love him unconditionally. However, as Issac grows apart from his 'angel', he becomes influenced by evil and thus, is tainted. When reuniting with Laughing Jack, Jack is effected by Issac's tainted-ness, and thus, turns evil.

I don't think Issac not seeing God caused this to happen. Yes, human neglect can lead to depression, and can if given the wrong actions, lead to sick and morally evil people.

I don't like the implication that, because I, and many others, do not see God, nor believe in him, that we are evil, demented and deadly.
Hasn't religion caused more wars than atheism, and has effectively lead to some of the most gruesome and vile deaths imaginable? Remember when the church impaled people of spears, and stood them up in the town squares as 'examples' of their 'evil'.

And honestly, what right do you have to dictate a story, about a magical clown that just appears and disappears into a box, as having anything to do with resembling 'reality' and god? Can't you just except this story is outside of reality, and the 'cause' is not important, it's the journey through it.

But no, you go and claim atheism is the route of all evil, just because apparently I am evil, cruel and a monster, because I do not believe in a big man in the sky commanding an empire of angels, and a being that despite making everything and being all knowing and all powerful, and all loving, cannot prevent evil, nor work through his 'grand plan', without one. breaking the concept of free will, and two. people dying as a result of his plan.

Please reconsider the next time you decide atheism is the worst possible thing in existence.
